This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Scientist (PriceElasticity/ML) in Latin America.
Join a high-impact project in the retail and consumer packaged goods industry, leveraging AI and machine learning to optimize pricing, promotions, and demand forecasting. In this senior-level role, you will design, validate, and implement models that quantify consumer response to price changes, helping businesses maximize revenue and improve planning decisions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable insights and integrate AI-driven prototypes into production. This is a fully remote role offering autonomy, technical ownership, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on real-world retail and CPG operations across Latin America.
Accountabilities
- Model and measure price elasticity of demand across products, categories, and customer segments.
- Develop and test AI/ML models that integrate elasticity coefficients into pricing, promotions, and demand forecasting scenarios.
- Analyze structured and unstructured retail data to uncover trends and quantify consumer sensitivity to price changes.
- Apply statistical, econometric, and causal inference techniques to simulate what-if pricing strategies.
- Build, iterate, and deploy prototypes and POCs that translate elasticity insights into actionable business tools.
- Present findings clearly through data visualization and storytelling to influence both technical and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data-driven solutions into production environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Econometrics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in retail or CPG with expertise in price elasticity modeling and demand forecasting.
- Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, OOP) and SQL.
- Experience quantifying elasticity coefficients and applying them in business contexts.
- Solid knowledge of regression models, time-series forecasting, and causal inference methods.
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets and iterate prototypes collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex analytical insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with scalable cloud environments and distributed data systems.
- Nice to have: experience with scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark, Databricks, UI prototyping (Flask, Plotly, Streamlit), and ML Ops/CI-CD workflows.
Benefits
- 100% remote work across Latin America.
- Contractor agreement with payment in USD.
- Observance of Argentina’s public holidays.
- Access to English classes and learning platforms.
- Referral program and professional development opportunities.
- Work on impactful AI-driven solutions in retail and CPG sectors.
