Editor, Vocabulary.com

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a full-time editor to join our Vocabulary.com content team. In this role, you will create and edit educational materials used by students in Grades 5–12 and independent learners around the world.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Edit articles and blog posts for spelling, punctuation, grammar, style, and clarity
• Edit materials that are used to teach English vocabulary to middle school, high school, and adult learners
• Ensure content adheres to IXL's writing guidelines and the Chicago Manual of Style
• Create vocabulary lists and collections that help users understand fiction and non-fiction books, prepare for tests, and more
• Collaborate with our team of writers, editors, and illustrators to create content that is fun, accurate, and vocabulary-level appropriate

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• BA/BS degree
• Professional editing experience
• Impeccable knowledge of English grammar
• Ability to adjust to in-house style guidelines
• Familiarity working with the Chicago Manual of Style
• Experience teaching English, ESL, or other closely related subjects is a plus
• Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of age groups
• Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas and a strong attention to detail
