Cloud Database Administrator

Join us as a critical member of our engineering team, where you’ll help safeguard and streamline mission-critical SQL Server databases across AWS and Azure, drive automation, and champion security and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Administer, monitor, and support SQL Server databases on Azure (SQL DB, Managed Instance, SQL on VMs) and AWS (RDS, EC2).
• Manage backup/recovery, patching, and high availability (AlwaysOn, Geo-replication, Log Shipping).
• Tune SQL queries, improve indexing and analyze wait stats, leveraging SolarWinds DPA and related tools.
• Integrate and optimize observability tools such as New Relic APM, RedGate Monitor, and SQL Monitor for real-time diagnostics and alerting.
• Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and other scripting tools; contribute to DevOps pipelines.
• Support other data platforms: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Collaborate with CloudOps, DevOps, and SRE teams around release management, deployment automation, and IaC.
• Ensure cost-effective cloud resource utilization through tagging, right-sizing, and scheduled scaling.
• Maintain secure access controls and auditing as per FedRAMP High and IL5; support audits and compliance.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for incident response and resolution.
