JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities.
The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Assignments are conducted entirely through phone or Zoom and are available on a regular basis, depending on the demand for specific languages and the interpreters qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluency in both Cebuano and English
- Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
- Strong ability to interpret orally between Cebuano and English in both directions
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
- Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
- Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
- Must have a reliable phone, a laptop or desktop computer, and a stable high-speed internet connection
- Access to a quiet, private workspace to support remote assignments
