Senior Python Backend Developer / Platform Engineer- remote

Mission

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, secure microservices, and cloud-based platform components that enable high-performance AI applications. Ensure reliability, security, scalability, and seamless integration between AI solutions, enterprise systems, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop highly scalable, resilient, and secure microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Build and maintain backend services that support AI platforms and applications.
• Integrate business databases, third-party services, and internal legacy platforms with AI engines.
• Optimize backend performance, latency, and resource utilization to support real-time AI inference and model hosting.
• Implement enterprise-grade security controls, including authentication, authorization (RBAC), and rate limiting.
• Establish and promote development best practices, clean code standards, and code quality processes.
• Create and maintain integration and automated tests to ensure application reliability.
• Conduct code reviews and support engineering quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers to deploy AI models and services in containerized environments.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production systems.

Professional Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in Backend Engineering, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related fields.
• Proven experience building scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise applications.
• Experience designing cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Technical Skills

• Strong programming skills in Python and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience integrating applications with databases, enterprise systems, and external APIs.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms, including RBAC.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies and Docker environments.
• Experience with development best practices:

• Git
• CI/CD pipelines
• Automated testing
• Code reviews
• Version control

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Experience supporting AI/ML platforms or AI-powered applications.
• Experience working in Financial Services or Insurance environments.
• Familiarity with high-availability and high-performance distributed systems.
