Technical Sales Engineer

As a Technical Sales Engineer reporting to the Director of Sales Engineering, you will play a crucial role in our organization by bridging the gap between our technical solutions and our clients' needs. You will work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, demonstrate the capabilities of our products or services, and provide technical expertise throughout the sales process. This position requires a deep understanding of our offerings, excellent communication skills, and the ability to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences effectively.

Your main responsibilities will be

Technical Expertise:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our products or services, including their features, functionalities, and technical architecture.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies relevant to our solutions.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide feedback from clients and insights into market demands.

Client Engagement:

  • Engage with clients to understand their business needs, technical requirements, and challenges.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and proof of concepts to showcase our solutions and address client inquiries.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop tailored solutions that meet client objectives and requirements.

Solution Design:

  • Design and propose technical solutions that align with client needs and objectives.
  • Develop detailed technical proposals, including architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and cost estimations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to prepare and deliver compelling proposals and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Collaborate with the client and sales director to develop a Proof of Concept (POC) based on the Statement of Work (SOW) in order to achieve optimal results and secure the sale.

Sales Support:

  • Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process, including attending client meetings, conference calls, and product demonstrations.
  • Address technical questions, concerns, and objections raised by clients to ensure their confidence in our solutions.
  • Assist the sales team in qualifying leads, identifying opportunities, and strategizing on effective sales approaches.

Relationship Building:

  • Build strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor on technical matters.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project requirements and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and customer support, to drive customer success and satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Incognito products is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in a pre-sales engineering role, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in relevant technologies, such as software development, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand client requirements, analyze problems, and design effective solutions.
  • Experience working in a client-facing role, with a customer-centric mindset and a focus on delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events (travel requirements may vary).
  • Certifications in relevant technologies or platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
