Position Overview:

The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for Supporting the Construction department with all procurement needs. Including but not limited to sourcing and vetting contractors, leading and attending virtual pre-bid site walks, creating, processing, and sending out RFP’s and SOW’s, evaluating and reviewing bids, selecting, and awarding contractors. Additionally, the Purchasing Specialist will be required to understand and stay current with all Federal & State Funding procurement guidelines as well as documentation requirements for both ICAST and its contractors.

Requirements

Must Have Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years’ experience performing procurement in the multifamily residential renovation or new construction industry.
  • Prior experience with executing and managing sub-contractor agreements & change orders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess an understanding of Davis Bacon Wage reporting.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience with Federal and/or State Weatherization programs and other grant funded projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail with an analytical mindset.
  • Demonstrable ability to read and understand product specifications.
  • Strong communications and negotiation skills.
  • Experienced with contract administration/management and change orders.
  • Proficiency with the following software: M365 suite of products, Smartsheet, and SAGE.

Location: Remote in the U.S.A.

Reports to: Director of Vendor Relations & Purchasing

Skill Level: Intermediate

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience.

Areas of Expertise: Purchasing, Relationship Management, Contract Negotiation, SoW Development, Change Order Processes

Compensation: $65k DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Construction Department with all procurement needs.
  • Negotiate, purchase, and leverage all ICAST vendors to maintain best cost, terms, and warranties nationally.
  • Sourcing and vetting of contractors.
  • Attending required meetings & handoffs.
  • Create, process & send RFP’s & SOW’s based on the project’s needs.
  • Evaluation of sub-contractor bids & sub-contractor selection/awarding
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Federal and State funding procurement guidelines and documentation requirements.
