We are seeking a highly skilledSenior Profee Coder (Multi-Specialty – Strong Surgical Experience)to join our team on acontract-to-permanent basis. This is aremote position, open only to residents ofTexas, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Georgia.
In this role, you will focus on high-dollar or specialty accounts, applying expert-level coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant coding of inpatient and/or outpatient services. You will collaborate with clinical documentation specialists and other departments to support accurate billing and reduce denials. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical coding and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and/or CPT codes based on clinical documentation.
- Abstract and validate data in electronic medical record systems.
- Ensure coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
- Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation teams to clarify documentation.
- Manage coding queues and resolve accounts on hold.
- Participate in audits and implement solutions to reduce errors.
- Maintain compliance with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Health Informatics, Health Information Management, or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program preferred.
- 2+ years of professional coding experience preferred.
- Strong surgical coding experience across multiple specialties is essential.
Certifications:
- AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.

- Must reside in TX, LA, AR, NM, or GA.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
