Job Overview

Progress Lighting is an industry-leader in residential lighting and ceiling fan products with a focus on whole-home solutions. Key market segments include home builders, lighting showrooms, retail home centers, ecommerce, and lighting specifiers.

As an Account Manager, you will market our lighting products to new and existing accounts such as builders, contractors, lighting showrooms, electrical wholesalers, and specifiers. You'll be supported by a success-driven team as you sell our products in the Mid-Atlantic markets.

We are open to remote in the following states: Baltimore, MD and access area of the outer 495 Beltway North of Washington, DC

A Day In The Life

  • Maximize revenue opportunities through electrical distributors, lighting showrooms, architects, lighting designers, builders, and other key decision makers by calling on key clients and driving demand for products.

  • Strategically grow existing customer base by identifying new opportunities and implementing a solution-based sales approach.

  • Lead and manage all key account activities and communications as well as develop new customer relationships

  • Implement all marketing and other programs including new product introductions as required within the time frame allowed.
  • Cultivate new relationships and develop/enhance existing relationships to increase brand awareness.
  • Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Manager regarding key projects and other key opportunities for growth.
  • Completing weekly/ monthly reports and special assignments as directed by the Regional Sales Manager

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelors degree,with a minimum 5 years of outside sales experience or equivalent work experience of 8 years or more of outside sales
  • Prior outside sales & negotiating experience working with builders/developers, electrical contractors & distributors is preferred.
  • Computer literacy working with Microsoft programs Excel and Word is a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed.
  • Experience writing and implementing business plans.
