Position Summary
You will lead a team applying AI to scientific research across discovery and early development. You will partner with scientists, engineers and project leaders to design, deliver and scale AI solutions that answer real scientific questions. Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of AI scientists, machine learning engineers and bioinformaticians to deliver high-impact projects.
  • Define technical strategy and roadmaps for AI-for-science initiatives aligned with research priorities.
  • Partner with laboratory scientists and domain experts to translate scientific problems into AI solutions and testable experiments.
  • Oversee end-to-end model development: data preparation, model training, validation, deployment and monitoring.
  • Ensure reproducible, secure and compliant engineering practices, including testing, version control, CI/CD and cloud deployment.
  • Build partnerships across internal teams and with academic or industry collaborators to share knowledge and scale solutions.

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, statistics or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 or more years’ experience delivering AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics in scientific or biomedical settings.
  • 3 or more years’ experience leading teams or technical groups, including hiring and performance management.
  • Strong software engineering skills, including Python and at least one ML framework (for example PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX).
  • Practical experience deploying models and data pipelines in cloud environments and using CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working collaboratively with scientific teams and translating domain needs into technical solutions.

Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus

  • PhD in a quantitative or life science field or equivalent research leadership experience.
  • Experience with omics, functional genomics, chemometrics, structural biology or multimodal biomedical data.
  • Track record of production-grade ML systems in research or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with model explainability, validation, and considerations for regulatory or clinical use.
  • Experience building partnerships with academic labs or running external collaborations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building an inclusive, coaching-led team culture.
