This is a remote position for 10 of the 12 classes; candidates for the 10 fully online are not expected to be in residence to teach these courses. That said, voluntary opportunities to teach on campus may be available. Two of the classes, in contrast, are taught mostly online. These two courses, as denoted by an asterisk in the preceding list, are only taught during the summer and include a two-week on-campus component, so that the cohort can learn together in the classroom at Gordon’s New England campus and connect to the greater Boston area. Adjunct faculty for these courses would either need to reside proximate to Gordon’s campus or be able to live on-campus during these two weeks.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- a track record of success working in the financial services industry (preferred, not required);
- a doctorate in the relevant field or a master’s combined with either
- another respected, relevant credential (e.g. CFA, CFP, CPA, etc.), or
- significant work experience within financial services;
- a demonstrated mature Christian faith, strong commitment to the Christian mission of the College, and agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith;
- a passion for teaching and mentoring students;
- experience teaching in higher education with preference given to those who have taught in the online environment, particularly using Canvas;
- a spirit of collegiality;
- and a value for diversity and inclusion.
