For an international organization in Europe, we are urgently looking for a REMOTE Senior Java Developer - CMS for a Content Management System (CMS) and web migration project. The incumbent will participate in migration planning and prepare content migration duties for existing web content in OpenCMS (Java, MariaDB), Samba (Linux)
and Oracle.
During the corona crisis, interviews will be done through WEBEX, and travel is not required for the interviews. All positions are long-term.
Tasks and deliverables
- Identify content environments, assets, and types;
- Perform inventory on Static content (CMS, external), Structure content, Dynamic content, Transaction content, Scheduled content, Metadata, and content tagging and Content dependencies;
- Identify content to be cleaned/reviewed / archived (based on date and internal link check);
- Identify required design components based on Templates, Layout containers, and Design elements;
- Identify replacement technologies (solutions) for structure and dynamic content from: OpenCms/Third-party systems;
- Provide RESTFUL Web API guideline;
- Identify migration-related issues, potential risks, and impacts;
- Participate in migration planning;
Profile
- Bachelor or Master degree;
- +5/+10 years of software development experience;
- Strong work experience in building Java applications;
- Strong experience with third-party systems with APIs and Databases integration;
- Experience working on CMS migrations;
- Experience with the following technologies: JSP, Java; REST APIs, JSON, XML; MySQL / MariaDB; Bash / shell scripting; Linux; Maven, SVN / GIT;
- Nice to have: Experience with OpenCms, PERL, Solr search (Lucene);
- Fluent in English;
