In 1921, Joseph Nathaniel Goddard formed a partnership with his son, Victor, to open a modest meat and grocery store on a side street in Bridgetown, Barbados. Neither could have foreseen that this small family business would evolve into a multinational conglomerate spanning 23 countries across the Americas. The company's journey began with a vision for service excellence, which quickly set them apart in the local retail sector. Just three years after opening, Mr. Goddard purchased the Ice House Building on Broad Street, establishing Bridgetown's first refrigerated meat store and bringing innovation to the local market.

What started as a single supermarket expanded into department stores, hotels, and ultimately airline catering services.
