NewForce is a 5 month, fully-remote, tuition-free tech career training program. Our goal is to build a tech economy in WV that works for everyone. Through an immersive curriculum, NewForce trainees solve real-world problems, present findings, collaborate on teams, and graduate with in-demand data analytics skills. We then leverage employer partnerships to help trainees find their first industry role.
NewForce students come from a wide range of backgrounds: we’ve successfully trained construction workers, school teachers, and retail associates, just to name a few! While most of our students are new to the tech industry, they bring a wealth of experience from their previous careers. NewForce staff work to facilitate the transfer of skills from previous experiences while also supporting trainees as they develop new skills.
Graduates will be qualified to work as data analysts and may fill positions in a variety of industries.

NewForce Living Stipend: Pays an hourly rate for time spent in training to offset any lost wages due to program participation. Participants must meet income requirements; eligibility will be verified upon program enrollment. Please note: Funding for the living stipend program is not guaranteed for the duration of the program and is subject to continued grant approval.
Program Software: All trainees will be provided with access to required software, including licenses for DataCamp, Tableau, and Power BI.
Laptop Rental: Given the nature of our program, trainees need to ensure consistent access to a computer that meets hardware specs. If a trainee does not have a compatible computer, they can request a rental laptop via our partnership with Mountwest CTC. More information will be provided to applicants accepted into the program.
