Job Title: Finance Associate

Reports To: Senior Finance Associate

Department: Finance

Job Timing: 7pm to 4am IST (night shift)

Position Overview:

The Finance Associate is responsible for all accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks. This individual will also assist with other finance department responsibilities including financial accounting and reporting, treasury management, customer invoicing, vendor management, corporate insurance, and general corporate communications (internal and external). Additionally, this individual will coordinate with Business Development and Operations department on communication regarding customer requests and invoicing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers in a timely manner and track customer accounts to ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Input and processing of Accounts Payable vendors and bills
  • Obtain revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges and refunds
  • Record and process incoming payments (checks, electronic transfers, etc.) into SAP BYD and apply payments to corresponding invoices and reconcile accounts
  • Reconcile discrepancies and resolve billing issues by working closely with customers
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Follow up on overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and letters and negotiate payment plans and resolve customer payment issues
  • Address billing inquiries and maintain positive customer relationships
  • Work with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for tracking data against contract requirements, such as invoice submission dates and reporting milestones.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Assist in revenue financial reporting through SAP BYD and other tools
  • Participate in monthly book closing and management reporting processes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university and two to three years of related experience and/or training
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience
  • Computer skills required: advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel in particular) required
  • Proficiency in SAP Business ByDesign (Byd) is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, administrative writing skills, organization, data entry skills, general math skills, financial software, analyzing information
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to report research results
