Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Analytics Senior Director to lead data-driven initiatives supporting Gather Health, an at-risk primary care group for seniors. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of analytical prowess, strategic thinking, and deep understanding of healthcare data sources, particularly claims, clinical, and operational data. As the Analytics Senior Director, you will play a critical role in optimizing performance under value-based contracts and enhancing the effectiveness of the Gather Health clinical model.

What are some of the day-to-day duties?

  • Utilize claims, clinical, and operational data sources to analyze performance metrics and provide actionable insights to support value-based contract performance
  • Conduct risk and revenue projections to inform strategic decision-making and mitigate financial risks
  • Perform medical expense analysis and projections, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvements
  • Apply expertise in HCC risk adjustment methodology to ensure accurate risk assessment and appropriate capitated reimbursement
  • Manage HEDIS/STARs reporting processes to monitor and improve quality measures, driving better patient outcomes
  • Generate cost and utilization reports to track trends, identify anomalies, and recommend interventions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including clinicians, operations teams, and payer partners, to align analytics initiatives with organizational goals
  • Help develop the analytics strategy and build Gather Health’s Analytics team, including the hiring and management of new data & analytics team members, as needed
  • Ensure technical excellence with reports, dashboards, and other analytical products

What are the requirements for this position?

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, statistics, mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in healthcare analytics, preferably within a primary care or value-based care setting
  • Experience building reporting and data visualization around utilization, costs and quality measure data sets.
  • Proven track record of success in risk and revenue projections, medical expense analysis, and performance optimization
  • Expertise working with technical teams to build the foundation of claims data intake, ingestion, transformation and normalization and analyzing this data
  • Expertise in HCC risk adjustment methodology and familiarity with HEDIS/STARs reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, or other programming languages commonly used in data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing analytics teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
