Position Overview

This position is responsible for the management, direction, and technical leadership of the Project Engineers and Modality Engineers. Will be responsible for driving technical expertise within the group and maintaining the advanced level of knowledge and abilities. Will work with the PE & ME team to set expectations and drive compliance to processes and procedures to ensure customersatisfaction and successful projects. Responsible for identifying, tracking, reporting on Synapse special project opportunities that add value to the product, to the company, and increase PE & ME skills and job satisfaction. Responsible for working with Marketing to drive investigation and evaluation of new technology that may be utilized with Synapse including testing and approval of NPI or Engineering recommended technology changes. Responsible for finding and solving internal (internal to Integration) and external (Fuji Sales/Service etc.) training opportunities. Will work with Engineering and Marketing for new products, software changes including testing, and newinformation dissemination. Will work with Engineering on process development and product customization management. Will assign as applicable PE & ME responsibilities for maintaining existing written documentation, periodic review, and Intranet posting, for new installation site technical review and configuration.

This position requires interaction with sales, technical support, field service, the end user, outside vendors and all other service and administrative groups within Fuji involved in the order through remittance process. Must develop relationships and communication channels to ensure status feedback and cooperation with shareholders.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to the Company's quality and regulatory compliance requirements, without exception, and ensures that all job duties inherent in the position description are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership, management, and direction for Project Engineers and Modality Engineers.
  • Task and maintain control over Synapse special projects including custom development and implementation development.
  • Responsible for driving investigation and evaluation of new technology that may be utilized with Synapse including testing and approval of NPI or Engineering recommended technology changes.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities, and appropriate resources for internal and external training opportunities.
  • Will work with Engineering on process development and product customization management.
  • Establishes the standards for Synapse configuration and settings. Identifies and drives compliance and excellence for procedures related to new installation site configuration review and server rack. Setup, configuration, loading, troubleshooting of systems atStamford and customer sites.
  • Develop, update, and maintain Synapse implementation tools and documentation. Develop systems for document control and management.
  • Maintains relationships between Engineering and Integration for new products, software changes including testing, and new information dissemination.
  • Coordinate activities and communication between the Project Implementation teams and Marketing/Sales/Engineering. Point of contact for the dissemination of technical information from headquarters to field teams.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • BS degree in a technical discipline. AA with significant on the job experience in a technical engineering role.
  • 5-10 years full time experience working with NT servers and workstations in a technical nature. Expertise in setup and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with database setup and structure, Oracle preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills. The ability to receive and communicate technical information.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in managing Web sites and information. Experience in HTML.
  • Must be very organized and multi-tasking.
  • Experience in working with, managing, and resolving customer problems and issues.
  • Must be a leader and be able to marshal resources in a complex matrix environment.
  • Experience in DICOM protocol, general computer network technology, high performance computing systems, archival storage systems.
  • Willing to travel up to 80%.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • 1-3 years management experience.
  • MCSE is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of Radiology workflow. Knowledge of Radiology and Hospital player, roles and responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listedcapabilities:

  • The ability to sit up 75-100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to use your hands and fingers to feel and manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to stand, talk, and hear for 75% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to ten pounds up to 20% of applicable work time.
  • Close Vision: The ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less.

Travel:

  • Position may be home office based. Majority of time is spent at customer sites (80%).
