The role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Internal Communications Specialist to support with developing and implementing strong commination solutions, both company-wide and at a departmental level.

Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications manager, you’ll play a key role in creating and reviewing content for companywide and department specific purposes and in delivering on high impact projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong writing, problem solving, and project management skills to play a part keeping our colleagues informed andcontribute to our mission to make science open.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and review content for company-wide and department specific communications.

  • Ensure all communications are consistent and follow our brand guidelines.

  • Contribute to campaign planning and execute campaign activity according to agreed schedules.

  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages and employees are informed of all developments.

  • Assist in drafting messages from senior leadership.

  • Manage internal company communication channels, including intranet, Teams channels and email.

  • Partner with the Senior Communications Manager to deliver our monthly internal newsletter.

  • Work with our in-house design and creative team to create compelling visual and video content.

  • Plan and organize internal communications events.

  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.

  • Monitorengagement metrics and interpret data into actions.

  • Identifynew communications and engagement opportunities.

  • Partner with the Senior Communications Manager to continually improve internal communicationsstrategies.

About you

  • Able to work quickly and efficiently.

  • Can think independently and demonstrate sound judgment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Can work collaboratively across all levels and departments.

  • Strong organizational skillsto independently manage projects, coordinate withstakeholders and meet deadlines.

  • Able to use discretion with sensitive information or confidential issues.

  • Positive, can-do attitude.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in an internal communications or related field (communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, human resources, academia)

  • Native-level English speaker 

  • Experience in copywriting and editing.

  • Strong communication skills, including written, spoken and presentation skills.

  • A storyteller that can write, edit, and publish communications in an authentic and human way.

  • Experience of communicating to a globally distributed, remote workforce.

  • Competence in using MS Office applications and digital internal communications tools.
