Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a VDC Engineer – Database Administrator. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining the VDC project database and ensuring the efficient integration of processes and software across regional and national projects.

This is a fully remote role that will support the Waterworks Virtual Design & Construction team from anywhere in the continental United States. Our ideal candidate would be in the Eastern or Central time zone. The shift for this role is a typical day working schedule.

Key duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Maintaining the VDC database, including data input, storage, and retrieval, to ensure the accuracy of project information.

  • Providing comprehensive technical support for various software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.

  • Collaborating with the internal team on current processes and advising in implementing BIM/VDC processes.

  • Coordinating with customers on job set-up and standard processes for preconstruction requirements.

  • Creating drawings and BIM models while maintaining VDC standards, processes, and workflows.

  • Assisting in creating and maintaining standard regional and national templates and families.

  • Setting up and building models for the team to meet project requirements and deadlines.

  • Handling internal billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely billing record-keeping.

  • Representing the organization to customers, associates, and leadership as needed.

  • Identifying and gathering necessary documentation to complete VDC projects.

  • Meeting and proactively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain a high-level of mechanical aptitude and construction knowledge.

  • Participating in the modeling of waterworks projects, as required.

  • Analyzing and tracking key business processes within the team.

  • Interacting with customers on various construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintaining and managing VDC databases, while ensuring the accuracy of project information.

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction science, architecture, or similar field is preferred.

  • Knowledge in creating and maintaining standard regional and national templates and families.

  • 2+ years of related experience in virtual design and construction, contracting, or engineering.

  • Familiarity with standard business processes and accurate billing record-keeping workflows.

  • A high degree of integrity, superior attention to detail, and the ability to think critically.

  • Understanding of gathering necessary documentation to complete VDC projects.

  • Requires a fundamental understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Ability to discuss projects with customers and facilitate open communication.

  • Strong analytical skills for tracking key business processes within the team.

  • Proficiency with Autodesk software and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills are essential.

  • Demonstrate effective presentation and writing skills.

  • Strong work ethic and great interpersonal skills.

  • Waterworks experience is highly preferred.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Revit Software is highly preferred.

Pay Range:

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$6,374.70 - $10,450.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
