Senior AWS / DevOps Engineer (Part-Time)

Contract: 3-month trial
Hours: 15-20 hours per week (Remote, within South Africa)
Availability: Must be available for at least 1 hour between 9am-12pm EST

Our U.S based client is looking to hire a Senior-Level Developer with strong AWS & DevOps experience to support their infrastructure and ongoing platform needs. This role is part-time (15–20 hours/week) and is ideal for someone who already has another role or is freelancing.



This is a hands-on execution role, not a purely architectural or advisory position. You'll be responsible for keeping our infrastructure stable, secure, and compliant while supporting our full-stack development efforts.



Key Responsibilities

AWS Infrastructure & DevOps

• Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure.
• Handle deployments, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Own package updates and security patches

Security & Compliance

• Ensure systems remain SOC 2 compliant
• Manage updates, access controls, and best practices

Development Support

• Support and collaborate with our Full Stack Developers.
• Step in to complete infrastructure-related tasks as needed.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize workflows

• Backend: Node.js (TypeScript)
• Frontend: React (TypeScript)
• Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS

Must-Have Experience
Senior-level development experience with AWS
Strong DevOps background (CI/CD, infrastructure maintenance, deployments)
Experience managing package updates and security compliance
Comfortable working independently and staying on top of infrastructure needs
Experience supporting or working alongside full-stack development teams
