Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support a large-scale CMS enterprise initiative. This role is critical in delivering scalable, reliable and secure services to our customers and requires extensive software engineering expertise combined with cloud and system knowledge and technical leadership. As a Senior SRE, you are highly technical and hands-on designing and implementing robust solutions that elevate the overall reliability of our services with strong focus on automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance infrastructure.
  • Provide operational support, maintenance, and enhancement for existing applications and infrastructure.
  • Drive improvements to the maintainability and reliability of existing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring scalable and consistent delivery practices.
  • Contribute to improving system reliability, observability, deployment workflows, and development pipelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, DevOps, and QA to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Work closely with leadership and stakeholders to define and implement product and business requirements.
  • Mitigate issues on production systems and build solutions through automation to prevent them from reoccurring.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software application development in Agile environments.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting and deploying cloud solutions on AWS.
  • Proficient in backend programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and scripting language such as Bash.
  • Strong understanding of API design and integration, including REST, GraphQL, JSON-RPC, and XML-RPC.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Solid experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, NoSQL).
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions Pipelines, including provisioning, configuring, and upgrading GitHub Runners.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
  • Familiar with monitoring and performance tools like New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, Sentry, or Prometheus.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization systems including Okta, Active Directory, and AWS IAM.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective documentation practices, and excellent verbal and written communication.
Requirements

Desired Qualifications:

  • Background in Big Data environments and technologies.
  • Experience implementing, configuring and optimizing observability platforms (e.g., New Relic, Dynatrace) for Python-based and NodeJS microservices.
  • Deep understanding of release engineering practices, with a focus on code quality, automated testing, and coverage metrics.

Working Environment:
eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager.?

Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.?
