About the role:

  • At Enfuce, finance operations sit at the heart of how we safely scale our BIN Sponsorship and payments infrastructure business across Europe.

  • We’re now looking for an Accountant – Safeguarding & Reconciliation to join the team and play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and regulatory compliance of our safeguarding, reconciliation and scheme settlement operations.

  • This role directly supports Enfuce’s EMI regulatory obligations and is responsible for helping ensure customer funds are safeguarded correctly, reconciliation processes operate accurately, and settlement activities run smoothly across a fast-moving, high-volume fintech environment.

  • Working closely with Finance, Compliance and Operations teams, this is a highly operational role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, structure, problem solving and operating in detail-heavy environments where accuracy genuinely matters.

  • The role combines safeguarding operations, reconciliations, payment flows, financial controls, liquidity monitoring and operational finance processes within a modern cloud-native fintech environment. This is not a traditional accounting role focused purely on statutory reporting. It is much closer to operational finance, payments operations and financial control within regulated payments infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own and execute daily safeguarding and reconciliation processes across multiple currencies, ensuring customer funds remain fully safeguarded and aligned with regulatory requirements at all times. This includes monitoring safeguarding movements, validating balances, preparing transfers and maintaining robust audit trails and documentation.

  • Perform daily reconciliations across customer balances, ledger systems, safeguarding accounts and operational payment flows. Investigate discrepancies, resolve reconciliation breaks and escalate operational or financial risks where appropriate.

  • Support and execute daily scheme settlement activities across Visa and other payment schemes, ensuring settlement funding and transfers are completed accurately and within strict operational cut-off timelines.

  • Monitor customer prefunding balances and liquidity requirements, proactively identifying funding gaps, supporting forecasting activities and communicating operational requirements clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Support incident management and control processes by identifying safeguarding breaches, investigating root causes, documenting corrective actions and contributing to the ongoing strengthening of the wider control environment.

  • Contribute to audit readiness, governance activities and finance process improvement initiatives, while helping the team continue building scalable, automation-led and operationally resilient finance operations.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong experience within reconciliations, safeguarding, operational finance, payments operations or financial control environments, ideally within fintech, payments, banking, EMI or regulated financial services.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately within highly controlled, high-volume and time-sensitive operational environments.

  • Experience investigating discrepancies, resolving reconciliation issues and operating within structured control or audit-driven environments.

  • Good Excel capability and confidence working across finance systems, payment platforms or reconciliation tooling. Exposure to ledger systems, multi-currency operations or scheme settlements would be advantageous.

  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across Finance, Compliance, Operations and external stakeholders.

  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with comfort operating within evolving scale-up environments where processes, tooling and responsibilities continue to mature.
