About the Role

As an Engineering ManageratEnergyCAP, you will lead and support two product engineering teams, creating an environment oftrust, clarity, and collaborationwhere engineers can do their best work. This role is a true people-leadership position—focused on coaching, alignment, and outcomes rather than individual coding—while partnering closely withProduct, Architecture, and Engineering leadershipto deliver meaningful results for the business.

This role is critical toEnergyCAP’sability toscale product development in a healthy, sustainable way. Acting as a force multiplier,you’llremove obstacles, reinforce effective ways of working, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration so teams canoperatewith confidence, predictability, and a sustainable pace.You’llhave a direct impact on team health, delivery quality, and the culture that supportsEnergyCAP’slong-term growth.

WhatYou’llDo

• Provide day-to-day people leadershipfor two engineering teams, including coaching, 1:1s, feedback, and support for engineers at all levels

• Partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, and Technical Leadershipto align priorities, planning, and delivery

• Facilitate and reinforce effective team practicessuch as planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement

• Remove blockers and address team-level challengesthatimpactfocus, morale, or delivery

• Own hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and promotion recommendationsfor engineers on your teams

• ReinforceAgile@EnergyCAPways of working, collaborating with the Director of Engineering on change initiatives

• Support major product initiativesby aligning team execution with technical direction and business priorities

• Build and mature high-performing, long-lived teamsthrough intentional hiring, onboarding, and team design

• Drive targeted improvements in delivery, collaboration, and sustainabilitybased on team feedback and outcomes

• Lead resolution of complex team challenges or escalationsrequiring focused leadership and coordination

WhatYou’llBring

• Experience leading engineering teamsin a product-focused software organization

• Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development

• Ability to lead empowered product teamsthrough close partnership with Product and Architecture

• Solid understanding of modern software development practicesand sustainable delivery

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to surface issues early and align stakeholders

• Ability to create trust, psychological safety, and accountabilitywithin teams

• Experience navigating change and ambiguitywith calm, thoughtful judgment

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting teams through organizational or process change

• Background in small to mid-sized companieswhere adaptability and judgment are essential

• Agile, Scrum, or leadership-related certifications(helpful but notrequired)

Pay Range: $115,000 - $130,000 annual base salary with 10% target bonus.
Pay is commensurate with experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
