The Advanced Analytics Team is an Enterprise function within Endeavour, with capabilities across data governance & privacy, data engineering & platforms, data analytics and data science. We are a passionate team of data enthusiasts with a mission to empower Endeavour to achieve its ambitions through data driven insights.

The Machine Learning Engineering Chapter Lead - Advanced Analytics sits in the Group Data Practice in the Advanced Analytics Team and is a specialist skill/people management career pathway at Endeavour. The Machine Learning Engineering capability’s core purpose is to productionise machine learning models and monitor productionised model performance.

Endeavour operates an Agile, matrixed environment, with Practices/Chapters providing people management and capabilities, whilst Product squads deliver business missions. Chapter members are embedded in cross-functional Product delivery squads, bringing their specific skill to that squad to deliver on the Product initiatives.

Here is a taste of what you can expect in this role

• Recruitment, line management, delivery squad allocation and capability uplift of the machine learning engineering capability at Endeavour
• Act as a servant leader for your chapter members
• Coach, mentor, support and upskill the chapter members to ensure that we have the capability necessary to deliver value through the delivery squads
• Drive the creation and maintenance of standards to ensure quality delivery of the capability across the organisation
• Work closely with Product Managers to recruit and allocate chapter members into delivery squads.
• Contribute to delivery, providing the machine learning engineering capability within a cross-functional agile squad.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you

• 10+ years experience in machine learning engineering or a similar capability, including code optimisation, MLOPs, model management, containerisation, deployment and monitoring model performance
• 2+ years leadership capability with a proven track record leading high performance teams
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning engineering industry frameworks and professional standards
• Experience in Technology delivery, waterfall and agile
• Python and SQL skills
• Experience with distributed programming (e.g. Apache Spark, Pyspark)
• Software engineering experience/skills
• Strong knowledge of Data Science
• Experience working with big data cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS)
• Devops experience
• CI/CD experience
• Experience with Unit Testing, TDD
• Experience with Infrastructure as code

Desired/Advantage experience

• Google Cloud Platform experience
• Azure Databricks experience
• Experience working with retail offline (e.g. store sales) and online data sets (e.g. ecommerce)
• Experience working with Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data
• Experience working with unstructured data
• Data science knowledge
• Retail industry experience
• Experience with Java and/or C#
• Experience with Object-Oriented programming (OOP)
• Consulting experience
• Experience with vendor management
