Job Overview:

Lantern is building the most trusted brand in specialty care. As Brand Director, you will orchestrate our end-to-end brand marketing strategy - connecting the dots across employer brand, awareness, perception, engagement, and voice. Your role is both strategic and operational: setting direction and executing on initiatives that grow Lantern’s presence, relevance, and impact across all audiences.

You’ll serve as the connective tissue between content, creative, growth marketing, PR, product marketing, and commercial teams, ensuring brand investments are aligned, measured, and optimized for business impact. This role demands a unique blend of analytical rigor and creative fluency, with a keen eye toward how brand building drives growth. You’ll also be an internal champion for new tools and technologies - especially generative AI - that unlock new efficiencies and creative potential.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Own the strategy for Lantern’s brand marketing pillars: employer brand, awareness, perception, engagement, and power of voice.
  • Develop annual and quarterly brand marketing plans aligned with company goals and supported by clear KPIs.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to leaders across marketing, product, and commercial functions.

Cross-Functional Activation

  • Lead integrated brand campaigns across channels (web, social, PR, content, events, etc.) in close collaboration with content, creative, and growth teams.
  • Activate our brand with keystone thought leadership content and partner with HR and executive leadership to define and activate Lantern’s employer brand.
  • Act as the voice of brand health in internal forums, driving alignment and shared understanding of priorities and results.
  • Lead industry recognition efforts and manage agency/partner collaborations to extend brand reach.
  • Identify and cultivate brand-led partnerships with ecosystem collaborators to amplify Lantern’s market presence.

Measurement/ Optimization & Budget Management

  • Define and manage brand KPIs (awareness, engagement, preference, reputation, etc.), setting benchmarks and optimizing performance through data. Provide board level analysis on brand performance and own team’s finances.
  • Lead the development and rollout of Lantern’s Brand Strength Measurement Framework, incorporating internal KPIs and external benchmarks (e.g., perception studies).
  • Conduct competitive and audience research to identify whitespace and fine-tune positioning.
  • Translate insights into decisions, adjusting tone, channels, or strategy based on performance and opportunity.

Execution, Governance & Ownership

  • Personally lead key brand projects end-to-end—from concept through creative execution and post-launch analysis.
  • Contribute to messaging, campaign narratives, and storytelling frameworks.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve brand resources—including centralized guidelines, playbooks, and training programs.
  • Ensure all external-facing brand expressions are consistent, compelling, and on-strategy. Conduct regular brand audits and evolve brand documentation annually based on learnings.
  • Manage third party vendors and ensure projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.

Innovation & AI Integration

  • Champion emerging technologies—including generative AI—to scale brand content and enhance creative workflows.
  • Identify and pilot new tools that improve content creation, insight generation, or campaign management.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in brand marketing, with a strong preference for B2B healthcare environments.
  • A proven track record of building and scaling brand programs that demonstrate measurable business impact.
  • Highly analytical and data-driven with fluency in brand measurement techniques and tools. Comfortable running own analysis in excel, SFDC and collaborating with product on user analytics
  • Proven success in creating and maintaining performance dashboards, briefings, and reporting frameworks for executive audiences.
  • Strong understanding of modern brand platforms, content strategy, and cross-channel execution.
  • Expertise in using project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) and enablement platforms (e.g., Highspot) to drive transparency and accountability.
  • Excellent storytelling and strategic writing skills; able to translate complex ideas into powerful narratives.
  • Experience managing external agencies, freelancers, or cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper, Midjourney, etc.) and their creative applications.
  • Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment where ambiguity is common, and autonomy is expected.

Employer Direct Healthcare (EDH) understands that navigating healthcare, particularly for significant medical events like surgery or cancer, can be overwhelming and costly for both employees and employers. Many individuals face challenges in finding high-quality, affordable care, and often struggle with understanding their benefits and coordinating their treatment. This can lead to delayed care, suboptimal outcomes, and significant financial strain. Employers, on the other hand, grapple with the rising costs of healthcare and the need to provide valuable benefits that truly support their workforce's well-being. They seek solutions that not only manage expenses but also ensure their employees receive the best possible care, leading to quicker recovery times and improved productivity.

That's why Employer Direct Healthcare has developed a customer-centric approach focused on transforming access to excellent care for the cases that matter most. Our mission is to democratize healthcare, facilitating access to top-quality providers at fair prices nationwide. We partner with self-funded employers to offer their employees supplemental benefits that simplify the healthcare journey. Our flagship product, SurgeryPlus®, provides a full-service surgical concierge and a network of elite providers, significantly reducing surgical costs for employers by nearly 50% in many cases, while ensuring employees receive exceptional care. We guide members through every step, from understanding their diagnosis to coordinating with top surgeons and facilities, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience. Recognizing the complexities of cancer care, we've also launched a comprehensive oncology solution to provide end-to-end support for patients and their families. Our dedicated Care Advocates work closely with members, offering personalized assistance and ensuring they can focus on their health, not the hassles of the healthcare system. By curating a Network of Excellence and providing dedicated support, we help employees get back to good health, their families, and their work, while providing significant cost savings and a valuable benefit for employers.
