Senior Designer

We're Looking for a Senior Designer to Join Our Creative Team.

As our Senior Designer, you’ll be at the heart of it all – working across a range of exciting projects, from infographics to digital marketing and beyond.

You will have the opportunity to work across all digital media where you can expect to show off your design skills on journals (brochures) web and mobile design, social media & e-marketing campaigns. Your vision, flair and creative drive will help to deliver excellent digital designs crafted for our European Medical Journal.

You will work on a variety of digital aspects including our range of EMJ group websites, our journal publications, animated videos, infographics, user journey and also an opportunity to support with other internal projects across the EMJ brand.

You’ll collaborate with our Design Manager, Creative Director, and the wider team to turn bold ideas into jaw-dropping visuals. Ready to make your mark? Let’s break it down:

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Create innovative design solutions for everything from marketing campaigns to internal presentations.
• Work on flat graphics, digital design, illustrations, and social media.
• Helping to pioneer our industry first ‘Interactive Articles.
• Lead creative projects, including animation and video content for the healthcare industry.
• Be a brand guardian, making sure we always stay true to the EMJ & AMJ brands.
• Manage multiple projects at once.
• Drive creative research to stay ahead of design trends and keep our visuals fresh.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with business goals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience as a Senior Designer with a killer portfolio to match.
• Mastery of Adobe Suite (especially After Effects and Premier) – animation skills are a must.
• Strong eye for detail and a love for typography, composition, and colour.
• Excellent project management skills, ensuring your work is always on time and on brief.
• A team player who can inspire others with their creativity and vision.
• Experience designing for social and digital media, with a deep understanding of platform requirements.
• Strong communication skills to present and defend your creative ideas internally and externally.

• Innovation – delivering fresh, trendsetting ideas in design and reporting monthly progress.
• Ensuring seamless project management and sign-off processes.

• Achieving 100% accuracy in design asset storage and project filing.

Tech Skills:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere).
• Hands-on experience with animation, video editing, and interactive content design.
• Familiarity with both Mac and PC environments, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Desirable: Experience with podcast editing, interactive content creation, and knowledge of publishing processes.

Key Information

• Salary: Negotiable
• Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri
• Working pattern: Up to 2 days flexibility to work from home (FT in office during probation)
• Location: Our buzzing London/Moorgate office

We operate a hybrid working environment. We’d expect to see you in the office at least 3 days a week. During your probation, though, you’ll be in with us all five days—it’s the best way to get you up to speed and support your development. So, if you’re after something fully remote, this probably won’t be the right fit - we encourage people in office, where we people are achieving their personal and professional goals.
