We are looking for talented and creative Freelance Video Editors to join our remote production team. The ideal candidates will have a background in video editing and a genuine interest in science content. Experience editing documentaries and educational content will be considered a valuable asset
Tasks
Tasks
- Edit and produce high-quality long form videos that incorporate live action and animation footage, utilising video editing software and and collaborating with animators
- Archive Research - Search databases for relevant high-quality images, footage and visuals.
- Source, download, select and import suitable media elements (videos, images, audio)
- Work closely with the creator and the production team to ensure all video content is accurate, informative and engaging
- Integrate the tone of voice from the original Astrum channel into the new editing style, while elevating the overall quality to a higher standard than the original channel.
- Implement sound design on edits
- Ensure use of rights-cleared assets.
- Manage and organise video footage, assets and archives
- Stay up-to-date with video editing software and techniques
Requirements
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in video editing and accompanying showreel, with an emphasis on digital content creation and experience with YouTube
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro & Creative Cloud
- Demonstrated experience using and creating motion graphics and animations.
- Excellent video documentary storytelling skills
- Although not essential, a strong understanding of YouTube and other social media platforms and how to optimise content for those platforms would be beneficial
- A passion for Astronomy with the ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad audience
- Experience in sound design, with the ability to integrate audio elements into video projects, is essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Previous experience editing factual documentaries will be considered an advantage
