Job Overview
We are seeking an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to join our high-performing team of professionals focused on providing environmental services. This position is ideal for a mid-level engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience, including experience with both designing, installing, and providing maintenance and/or upgrades to mechanical systems. The role is virtual and consists of both office work and as-needed travel ( up to 25%) throughout the United States in support of multiple environmental remediation systems. Primary roles when in the office will include supporting our team of environmental professionals with system design; researching and recommending equipment, materials, and system components; and remote monitoring and troubleshooting of remediation treatment systems. The ideal candidate will also possess hands-on field experience diagnosing problems, applying critical thinking and resourcefulness to troubleshoot and resolve issues while in the field.

Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with EHS Support’s health and safety protocols and client-specific requirements
- Under the leadership of senior engineers, manage the electrical or mechanical engineering activities during the proposal, design, installation, and commissioning stages of projects
- Leading site visits to gather notes and photos of existing conditions to support system designs and identify critical flaws proactively
- Supporting early development of projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs
- Supporting utility interconnection applications (for E.E.)
- Developing, reviewing, and approving equipment submittals
- Providing project oversight, including managing electrical or mechanical engineering scopes, developing change orders when needed, and maintaining project schedules and budgets
- Coordinating with in-house and subcontracted engineering resources, including civil, environmental, geotechnical, and structural design engineers
- Developing, contributing to, and reviewing project deliverables while gaining experience to eventually assume responsible charge as a professional engineer
- Providing engineering support for environmental investigation and remediation projects
- Providing engineering reviews and recommendations for improvement at industrial client facilities
- Supporting development of CAD drawings for engineering submittals
- Cultivating on-the-job development of your colleagues and supporting responsible team growth throughout project implementation
- Provide technical updates with in-house teams and clients in coordination with project managers and senior engineers
- Oversee task scopes and budgets to ensure work products are completed on time and within budget
Specific Experience and Skills
- Minimum 4 years of work experience and progressive responsibilities in either electrical or mechanical engineering
- Familiarity with federal and state codes/regulations and common technical guidance
- Ability to contribute effectively within teams and project budgets to provide client-focused services
- Proficiency with technical tools (e.g., Excel, databases, PLC programming, Electrical CAD, SolidWorks 3D CAD or modeling tools)
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Travel flexibility (occasional, based on project and client needs)
Education and Licenses
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Professional licensure (e.g., PE) or ability to obtain licensure in the near term is a plus
