Key Responsibilities Overview The Service Delivery & Provisioning Specialist plays a critical operational role in deploying customer infrastructure within Edged U.S. data centers. This role serves as a subject matter expert in provisioning telecommunications services and supporting the delivery of customer data center solutions related to space, power, network connectivity, and containment. The Specialist coordinates the implementation of engineering designs for customer deployments, including data hall fit-outs, cabinet installations, cages/containment, power provisioning, and network connectivity. Working closely with internal engineering, operations, vendors, and telecom carriers, this role ensures that provisioning activities and service delivery milestones are executed efficiently and in alignment with Edged standards. The Specialist focuses on technical coordination, provisioning execution, vendor management, and documentation, while supporting project managers and operational teams to ensure customer deployments are completed accurately, on schedule, and according to design specifications.

Provisioning Responsibilities

  • Order and provision internet and data circuits from telecom carriers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
  • Coordinate with telecom vendors, internal engineering teams, and project stakeholders to ensure timely circuit delivery and activation.
  • Track and manage circuit orders throughout the full provisioning lifecycle, including submission, carrier confirmation, installation, testing, and activation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of circuit inventory, provisioning status, vendor communications, and order tracking.
  • Troubleshoot provisioning issues and coordinate with carriers to resolve delays or technical challenges.
  • Review and validate vendor quotes and ensure alignment with project requirements and budgets.
  • Support network upgrades, migrations, and new site deployments by ensuring circuits are provisioned and ready for implementation.
  • Partner with billing and finance teams to verify carrier charges and address billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain provisioning documentation and contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.

Service Delivery Support Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of customer deployments related to data center space, cabinets, containment systems, power infrastructure, and network connectivity.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, operations, capacity planning, and project management to support successful service delivery.
  • Assist with customer solution planning, including initial design review, technical documentation, and implementation planning.
  • Support pre-sales technical requests, including assisting with RFP responses and solution documentation.
  • Work with capacity and operations teams to determine available space and power resources across colocation sites.
  • Assist in creating colocation layout drawings and infrastructure documentation using AutoCAD.
  • Develop and maintain Scope of Work (SOW) documentation and supporting technical deliverables for customer deployments.
  • Review and interpret “as-built” construction drawings to ensure alignment with installation and provisioning activities.
  • Maintain updated records by incorporating redline updates and operational changes into engineering documentation.
  • Provide coordination support across project stakeholders to ensure milestones, risks, and dependencies are clearly tracked and communicated.
  • Participate in status meetings with internal teams and customers to provide updates on provisioning and deployment activities.
  • Ensure internal systems of record and documentation repositories are updated accurately to support operational tracking and revenue realization.

Qualifications Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications provisioning, service delivery operations, or data center infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience ordering and provisioning internet and data circuits from telecom carriers.
  • Familiarity with major telecom providers such as AT&T, Lumen, Verizon, Comcast, and Zayo.
  • Strong understanding of circuit provisioning workflows and terminology including LOA/CFA, FOC, demarcation, circuit extensions, and cross-connects.
  • Experience using telecom ordering systems, ticketing platforms, and carrier portals (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce, carrier systems).
  • Experience working in data center environments, managed service providers, or enterprise network environments preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of IP networking fundamentals and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with data center operations, colocation deployments, and network connectivity infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting vendor coordination, circuit provisioning, and service activation.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or technical drawing review preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple provisioning requests and operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across technical teams, vendors, and customers.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on documentation accuracy and process compliance.
  • Analytical and proactive approach to identifying service delivery risks and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, fast-paced environments with geographically distributed teams.
