As a Weight Control Engineer, You will be responsible for establishing and managing the weight control program across all phases of offshore projects. Ensures weight and centre of gravity data is accurately tracked, reported, and used to support design integrity and structural assessments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement the project weight control plan and procedures
- Establish and maintain the weight control database for all project phases (FEED, detail design, construction)
- Track, report, and forecast weight and centre of gravity (CoG) for topsides, jackets, and subsea structures
- Coordinate with all engineering disciplines to collect and validate weight data
- Issue regular weight control reports, trend analyses, and variance reports
- Liaise with naval architects and structural engineers on load and stability inputs
- Review vendor and subcontractor weight submittals and ensure compliance
- Conduct weight surveys and weigh-offs during fabrication and construction
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Naval Engineering
- 13+ years of experience in weight control engineering for offshore oil & gas EPC projects
- Proficiency in weight control software (e.g., AVEVA Weight Control, custom databases)
- Strong understanding of offshore structural systems and weight estimation methods
- Familiarity with NORSOK, API, and DNV weight control standards
- Excellent organizational and reporting skills
- Experience on ADNOC or GCC offshore projects is advantageous
