Position Summary
The Senior Tax Consultant will support team members and strategic, fortune-500 DMA clients, in performing audit management, routine tax activities, and data analysis. Additionally, resource will assist DMA and clients with identification and deployment of enhancements to automation landscape and process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage client’s audit inventory with centralized communication and tracking mechanisms
- Prepares and updates audit plans to include process steps and timeline for completion
- Manages data requests for audits to ensure accurate and complete data sets are provided to jurisdictions. This may include ERP data extraction to a simple report run. The ability to work with large datasets is a requirement. Prepare Report of Findings - Identify, document, and assist with the deployment of corrective action based upon audit/recovery findings
- Perform routine tax activities to supplement Client’s tax personnel. As required, this may include being onsite at client’s location weekly/monthly.
- Manage tax automation landscape for new/modified configurations and troubleshooting, at Client’s discretion
- Researches and enters data regarding tax exemptions into the system
- Business enablement via research transaction tax questions and issues
- Travels to client locations as needed and required by client and/or DMA.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 3-5 years professional experience preferably with indirect tax responsibilities within the tax department of an enterprise corporation
- Experience researching tax questions and issues
- Preferably working knowledge within company’s ERP and tax engine
- Preferably experience with data analytic platforms, Alteryx, and/or other emerging technologies
- Demonstrated problem solving, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel as required
