Since our founding in 1866, we at DFDS have been dedicated to moving goods and people, keeping Europe connected and facilitating trade and travel. Our journey began when C.F. Tietgen merged the three largest Danish steamship companies of the time, creating 'Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab', The United Steamship Company. From those early days with steamships, we have evolved into a leading European shipping and logistics network. Today, we operate an extensive and unique network that combines ferry, road, and rail transport with complementary logistics solutions, connecting countries across Europe with each other, as well as with Türkiye and North Africa. Our fleet and infrastructure are the backbone of our operations, enabling us to transport millions of tonnes of freight and welcome millions of passengers every year.
