⭐Building Technician Subsidence Role Summary
What will your day look like:
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Customer & Stakeholder Communication — Engage with customers, contractors, and insurer clients via phone, email, and written correspondence.
Technical Report Production — Prepare clear, accurate technical reports in line with SLA requirements.
Daily Task Management — Organise and prioritise workload to maintain progress across all active claims.
Mitigation Oversight — Coordinate third‑party companies to complete vegetation removal and drainage repairs to address the root cause of subsidence.
Repair Scope Creation — Update and produce building repair scopes using the in‑house schedule of rates.
Estimate Assessment — Review contractor estimates for accuracy, fairness, and technical validity.
Cash Settlement Negotiation — Negotiate repair settlements directly with policyholders.
Contractor Management — Oversee panel contractors, ensuring repair schedules, quality, and costs are controlled.
Delegated Authority Claims Handling — Settle claims within agreed Authority levels.
Compliance & Competence — Follow company procedures, maintain high personal competence, and ensure accurate updates to the claims IT system.
Treating Customers Fairly — Promote and uphold TCF principles throughout the claim journey.Knowledge and Abilities:
🎓 Required Skills & Experience
Subsidence or Building Claims Experience OR 5+ years trade experience OR graduate‑level building surveying background.
Strong Communication Skills — Excellent verbal and written communication, including telephone handling.
Customer Service Excellence — Ability to deliver a high standard of service in a fast‑paced environment.
Technical Knowledge — Understanding of subsidence, building repairs, and insurance claims handling.
Organisation & Attention to Detail — Ability to manage workload, assess problems, and identify effective solutions.
IT Literacy — Strong computer skills and confidence using claims systems.Benefits
