Job Description
CSCI Consulting is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Intermediate Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical financial management application. This position involves a full range of system engineering tasks including analysis, design, integration, documentation, implementation, and ongoing production support.
You will operate under general supervision and will be expected to bring both technical and administrative expertise to solve challenging issues, particularly in the financial systems domain. This is an opportunity to work on a high-impact, complex system that requires both strategic thinking and technical execution.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced systems analysis, evaluation, and integration in support of a highly complex financial management system
- Direct and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including planning, analysis, design, testing, and acceptance
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in a production environment
- Develop system documentation and support configuration management activities
- Apply higher-level business or technical principles and methods to solve complex problems
- Use PL/SQL and Oracle technologies to support backend processing and database management
- Automate system processes using UNIX shell scripting and cron scheduling
- Work with version control systems to manage code baselines and change tracking
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience with the following (minimum 3 years of recent experience):
- PL/SQL development and Oracle Database 19c or higher
- SQL (DML and DDL)
- TOAD for Oracle (Intermediate level)
- UNIX shell scripting and cron tab for task automation
- Use of version control software (e.g., Git, Subversion)
- Active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or equivalent) in compliance with DoD 8570.01-M requirements
- Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
- Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presence
Preferred Skills
- Functional knowledge of Treasury Cash Accountability processes
- Advanced proficiency in TOAD for Oracle
- Experience with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) testing
- Familiarity with HP Quality Center for testing and defect tracking
- Experience with Java development (Java Beans, OC4J, JDBC)
- Basic proficiency in HTML and JavaScript
- Experience using Subversion for version control
- Experience with ServiceNow for enterprise configuration and incident management
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
- Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
- Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
- Past experience working with a federal agency / state or local government agency!
