Company Summary

CRISP Shared Services (CSS) serves as the technology partner for health information exchange (HIE) affiliates in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, Connecticut, Alaska, Virginia and other jurisdictions. CSS facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns.

CRISP DC is the designated health information exchange (HIE) serving the District of Columbia. The CRISP DC HIE is a way of instantly sharing health and social determinants information among doctors’ offices, hospitals, labs, radiology centers, community-based organizations and other healthcare entities.

Job Summary

The Intern will be responsible for supporting key HIT activities in the Washington DC region. The successful candidate will provide support to:

  • Provider organization focused outreach centered on HIE account management activities.
  • Program focused implementation on addressing provider and patient needs for health information exchange (HIE) in the District.
  • CRISP DC Outreach team support in documenting process and educational materials related to Technical Integration and Technical Assistance projects.
  • CRISP DC Project team support in documenting scope and schedule requirements related to Health IT projects in the District.
  • Communicating with outreach and CRISP stakeholders about program initiatives.
  • Working with the IAPD program manager on managing program level documentation.
Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties/responsibilities include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

  • Work closely with Project Manager(s)/Finance and Operations Analyst to ensure effective engagement with CRISP DC participants.
  • Develop materials for training and technical assistance to CRISP DC Participants.
  • Support development of account management resources (e.g. user guides, one pagers, engagement reports).
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure business needs are met.
  • Support in the development of program and project level documents needed for project (e.g. requirements, statement of work, progress reports etc.).
  • Contribute to special projects as needed, including public health initiatives, product integration and user acceptance testing.

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A desire to be great and a track record of setting and achieving goals is required.

Preferred Skills

  • Client engagement experience.
  • Account management experience.
  • Project work experience.
  • Basic understanding of health information exchange (HIE).
  • Business analysis experience.

Experience and/or Experience

  • Student at a 4-year college or graduate program.

Compensation and Hours

  • Targeted base salary: $20 to $25 an hour, based on experience, qualifications, and education.
  • Hours Per Week: 10 - 20 hours per week
