As we enter an exciting phase of our SaaS journey, we are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Technology Solutions team based at Eight Mile Plains (flexible working available). You will be an enthusiastic developer with an eye for detail and a desire to contribute not just code, but suggestions and innovations towards building a globally reaching first-class SaaS product. You should be able to write great code in .Net, from data access layers through the API within an existing well-established project and be comfortable contributing independently or paired up with other teammates.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Undertake application development and maintenance within the framework of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Design solutions ensuring associated design, planning and development documentation is undertaken.
  • Undertake testing and debugging to ensure integrity and standards conformance.
  • Implement functionality from data access, business logic and API using C#, and technologies such as OData, and Entity Framework based on high level design prototypes and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop unit tests as part of every piece of work.
  • Write object-oriented and maintainable code as part of a large enterprise cloud product.
  • Peer review code changes from the team and assisting with implementing best practice patterns.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend developers, Ux designers, QA, Dev Ops, Business Analyst and Product Managers to complete user stories.
  • Contribute and share ideas of continual improvement with the team.
  • Use Azure technologies and functions where required, including pipelines, releases, and cloud services.
  • Present work to stakeholders at sprint reviews and code review sessions.
  • Mentor and assist with knowledge transfer and review with other developers

About You

To be successful you will have;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology combined with demonstrated 5+ years expertise in API and web development. in a CI/CD approach.
  • Deep understanding of full-stack .NET web applications
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and experience using MS SQL Server.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker (not essential)
  • Good knowledge of web application security and cloud development.
  • Demonstrated experience with web application security and understanding of Azure or alternative cloud technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle, including reviewing the Design Story Writing and QA stages.
  • Confidence in suggesting and making changes, seeking out opportunities for collaboration and iterating on code based on feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience in an AGILE working environment ideally within the IT-enabled healthcare or animal health industry (though not essential).
