Corbalt is a small group of technologists working to build better software infrastructure for government. We were part of the tech team that came in to help support the healthcare.gov launch and were inspired by how much everyone cared and worked hard to fix the site (from tech team members, to government contractors, and government employees), and how much progress we all made in a short time.
As we’ve continued to work with the government we focus on opportunities where we can build simple, scalable solutions to help support important government missions like helping people get health insurance (healthcare.gov) and helping ensure healthcare for vulnerable populations (Medicaid). We use innovative technology to create software infrastructure that's easy to use and develop applications that focus on addressing users' core needs.
We're a small team with experience at Google, Palantir, Bell Labs, Microsoft, and Silicon Valley startups. We work remotely by default and are spread across states. We look to hire technologists who are passionate about improving public services, love working as a part of a team, enjoy consulting with clients to develop creative solutions to complex problems, and are committed to fostering a kind work environment.

Corbalt is an innovative company focused on transforming the digital landscape through superior software infrastructure. Established to address the challenges faced during the rollout of HealthCare.gov, Corbalt has since dedicated itself to enhancing digital services in vital sectors of society, particularly in government-related operations. One of the key contributions from Corbalt was the development of a network architecture provisioning system for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This system significantly optimized the process of transitioning to cloud technology by reducing setup times from weeks to mere minutes while also cutting operational costs dramatically.

Our primary focus lies in automating manual processes, which allows us to improve reliability and increase visibility across various applications. Security remains paramount, as we pride ourselves on managing sensitive personal data responsibly while ensuring government assets are adequately protected. Corbalt also emphasizes automated compliance, having delivered software that meets stringent requirements for Authorization to Operate (ATO). With deep roots in technology and innovation—drawing expertise from talent with experience at Bell Labs, Google, and Palantir—we continue to stay at the forefront of design and development practices. Our all-remote team culture fosters flexibility, collaboration, and a focus on public interest projects, leading to a rewarding work environment.
