Job Summary

The Advisor I, Global Risk and Compliance, supports CRS’ Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) team by helping translate compliance and safeguarding strategies into consistent, well-managed programs for overseas operations. The Advisor is responsible for coordination and follow-through strengthening of partner safeguarding compliance, improving visibility into program status and risks, and enabling stakeholders to make timely, informed decisions. S/he helps protect people and programs by promoting accountable, compliant operations across the global portfolio.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the global implementation of CRS’ Partner Safeguarding Compliance Program by assisting with planning, tracking, documentation, and follow‑up activities across regions and partners.
  • Assist in translating global compliance and safeguarding strategies into practical, operational guidance for country programs and partners, ensuring consistency and alignment with CRS requirements.
  • Coordinate routine compliance and safeguarding monitoring activities, including maintaining trackers, consolidating input from country teams, and supporting follow‑up on agreed actions.
  • Administer assigned compliance programs—such as the USG Trafficking in Persons (TiP) Compliance Program and the USG Subrecipient Audits Program—by maintaining records, coordinating inputs, and supporting routine reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to risk and compliance reporting by compiling data, updating dashboards, and preparing summaries that improve visibility into program status, issues, and emerging risks.
  • Serve as a point of coordination between the GRC team and internal stakeholders (e.g., regional, program, and partner teams) to support timely information sharing and follow‑through.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by documenting lessons learned, identifying recurring challenges, and suggesting practical enhancements to tools and processes.
  • Support the administration of the Host Government Tax USG Reporting Procedure, including data collection, consolidation, and coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Under the guidance of the supervisor, assist in administering existing compliance programs and contribute to the design and refinement of new compliance initiatives, tools, and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of agency‑wide compliance and safeguarding strategies, standards, tools, and best practices by providing coordination, documentation, and analytical support.
  • Assist with strategic and operational planning activities by supporting data collection, basic analysis, preparation of presentations, and progress and status reporting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of compliance, risk management, safeguarding, or governance concepts within international development or humanitarian contexts.
  • Knowledge of donor compliance requirements particularly USG‑funded programs
  • Familiarity with INGO operating environments, including overseas programs, partners, and cross‑cultural contexts.
  • Ability to think analytically and act methodically
  • Strong writing skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly
  • Strong communication skills (Email and Teams) in a remote environment and ability to get things done in a matrix environment
  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite (especially Excel, Power BI, SharePoint Lists, Teams)
  • Strong sense of customer care and service
  • Strong planning and analytical skills
