Role Summary
As anAzure IaaS Customer Engineer, you act as a trusted technical advisor, architect, and problem solver for enterprise and government customers. You help customersdesign, deploy, operate, and optimize hybrid and cloud infrastructure solutions, with a strong focus onAzure Arc–enabled hybrid environments, Azure Storage, and Azure Backup / disaster recovery strategies.
This is anadvisory role, combining architecture guidance, deep technical troubleshooting, and strategic consulting to help customers achieve resilient, secure, and well‑architected solutions on Azure.
Core Technical Skills (Required)
Azure Infrastructure & Hybrid Expertise
Broad and deep knowledge of Azure infrastructure, withexpert‑level focus on the following technologies:
- Azure Arc
- Arc‑enabled servers, Kubernetes, and data services
- Hybrid and multi‑cloud management, governance, and monitoring
- Policy, security, and configuration consistency across environments
- Azure Storage
- Blob, File, Disk, and Queue storage

- Storage design for enterprise and hybrid workloads
- Azure Backup
- Backup architecture and recovery design
- Hybrid backup scenarios (on‑premises, Azure, Arc‑enabled resources)
- Business continuity, compliance, and data protection strategies
- Azure Site Recovery
- Disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Hybrid and Azure‑to‑Azure failover scenarios
- Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS)
- Compute design, availability, scaling, and performance optimization
- Azure Networking
- Virtual networks, connectivity, hybrid networking patterns, and security
- Azure Monitor & Azure Insights
- Monitoring, diagnostics, alerting, and operational visibility
- Azure Policy
- Governance, compliance, and enforcement across cloud and hybrid estates
Architecture & Frameworks
- Strong understanding andpractical implementation experiencewith:
- Azure Well‑Architected Framework
- Cloud Adoption Framework
- Ability to translate framework guidance intoreal‑world, customer‑specific designs, particularly for hybrid, storage, and data‑protection workloads
Broader Azure Knowledge
- Well‑rounded understanding of Azure across:
- IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Integration with on‑premises and third‑party platforms
- Ability to position Azure capabilities within a broader IT and business context
Experience & Background
- 15+ yearsof experience in customer‑facing technical roles, such as:
- Systems architecture
- Infrastructure administration and operations
- Cloud and hybrid consulting
- Enterprise support and advanced troubleshooting
- Proven track record of:
- Planning, deploying, operating, and optimizingenterprise‑scale cloud and hybrid environments
- Supporting complex customer scenarios from design through production
- Strong experience withhybrid infrastructures, architecture design, and technology management
- Understanding ofMicrosoft’s Modern IT Architecture and Strategy
- Advanced level of Dutch and English
