This is a paid freelance, remote position

Collider is the leading source for impactful entertainment coverage, serving millions of readers with smart, authoritative stories on the biggest movies, TV shows, streaming hits, cult classics, and everything in between. With a focus on quality, timeliness, and relevance, we aim to be the go-to destination for passionate fans and curious newcomers alike.

We’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Interview Editor to help shape and optimize Collider’s celebrity, filmmaker, and entertainment interviews across digital and social platforms. This role goes beyond basic copy editing — we’re looking for someone who understands SEO, audience engagement, packaging, and the broader news cycle surrounding entertainment coverage.

The ideal candidate can edit interviews into compelling, polished editorial pieces while also identifying standout moments that can be repurposed for social media, breaking news stories, and cross-platform promotion. You’ll work closely with editorial leadership, social teams, and news writers to maximize the reach and impact of every interview published.

Your Responsibilities

  • Edit interview transcripts and copy for clarity, tone, pacing, grammar, and editorial quality.
  • Craft strong SEO-driven headlines, metadata, and URLs that maximize discoverability and audience engagement.
  • Identify newsworthy quotes, viral moments, and standout soundbites that can be clipped for social media or expanded into separate news coverage.
  • Collaborate closely with the social and news teams to coordinate interview rollouts and promotional opportunities.
  • Ensure all interview content aligns with Collider’s editorial standards, voice, and publishing guidelines.
  • Optimize interviews for readability, structure, and search performance without compromising editorial integrity.
  • Work independently to manage deadlines, prioritize assignments, and maintain consistent turnaround times.
  • Monitor entertainment trends and understand what topics, franchises, and talent are resonating with audiences online.
  • Submit clean, self-edited work in a timely and professional manner.

What We Offer

  • Competitive freelance compensation.
  • Consistent and timely payments.
  • Flexible remote schedule — work from anywhere.
  • Opportunity to work with high-profile entertainment interviews and talent.
  • Exposure to Collider’s highly engaged monthly audience of 30M+ readers.
  • Collaborative work environment with editorial, news, and social teams.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of editorial experience, ideally within entertainment, pop culture, digital publishing, or interview-based content.
  • Exceptional copy editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices, headline writing, metadata optimization, and URL structuring.
  • Experience identifying viral, social-friendly, or newsworthy moments within longform content.
  • Familiarity with entertainment journalism, celebrity coverage, film, television, and streaming culture.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced remote editorial environment.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress or similar preferred).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across editorial, social, and news teams.
  • Self-sufficient, organized, and comfortable managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
