OUR WORK MODEL

Remote: This is a fully remote role, allowing you to work from anywhere within country/region.

Note - we have an office in Skopje which you are welcome to work in if you prefer.

YOUR ROLE

As a DataOps Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure infrastructure to support our data team’s development workflows. This is a high-impact role focused on DataOps practices—especially in serverless environments and big data domains—enabling frictionless delivery cycles and seamless automation for data infrastructure.

YOUR CHALLENGES & OPPORTUNITIES

• Design Scalable Infrastructure – Develop and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices to support fast-growing data needs.

• Automate Deployment Pipelines – Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable robust, repeatable deployment processes.

• Champion Serverless Practices – Implement and manage serverless technologies like AWS Lambda and Step Functions, reducing operational overhead and boosting scalability.

• Drive Collaboration – Partner with Data Engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on infrastructure needs and efficient delivery.

• Optimize System Monitoring – Integrate monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch) to maintain visibility, reliability, and performance across environments.

• Ensure Security and Access Controls – Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) using AWS IAM to safeguard systems while enabling team productivity.

• Improve Documentation – Maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD processes to support onboarding and ongoing team learning.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

• Cloud Expertise – 2+ years working with cloud technologies (AWS), including deep experience with serverless and big data solutions.

• IaC Mastery – Strong proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure automation, ensuring scalable and repeatable deployments.

• CI/CD Experience – Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions, streamlining development-to-production workflows.

• Monitoring & Security – Proficient in setting up monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OTEL) and managing secure cloud networking (VPCs, Load Balancing, Subnets).

• Tooling Knowledge – Familiarity with data tools such as Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, MongoDB, Redis, Airflow, and AWS DMS.

• Programming Skills – Solid scripting or coding ability in Python (and ideally Bash), enabling automation and infrastructure logic.

• Communication – Strong written and spoken English; able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• DataOps Background – Prior experience in DataOps environments with a focus on data availability, redundancy, and infrastructure resilience.
