We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-oriented Linux Systems Engineerto join our team. This person will manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of servers across on-premises and cloud environments.
To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape.
Primary Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE).
Monitor system performance, apply patches, and ensure security compliance.
Automate tasks using Bash, Python, or configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Support cloud infrastructure and virtualization platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, VMware, KVM).
Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues; perform root cause analysis.
Maintain system documentation, generate reports, and contribute to knowledge bases.
Enforce security best practices and participate in audits or compliance initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- 2 - 5 years of experience
- An ability to work independently, multi-task, and communicate effectively will be required for this role.
- US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance
- Strong knowledge of networking, security and server virtualization
