Circuit Stream partners with U of T and McGill, UFC and other universities to offer our innovative, career-ready Game Development Bootcamp Course. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Unity Game Development Bootcamp Instructor to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of game developers. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in game development principles, coupled with a proficient understanding of the Unity Game Engine. The Game Development Instructor will have the exciting opportunity to impart industry knowledge, foster logical thinking, and guide students in honing their game development skills.

This is an online/remote teaching position, but candidates should ideally be located in Eastern Canada (Ontario or Quebec). While instruction is delivered online, we’re focused on building a strong local network of instructors near the same cities/provinces as a majority of our students. The next cohort runs from September 2025 to April 2026 with evening classes from 6:30-9:00pm Eastern time zone (ET) on Tuesdays and Thursdays plus monthly labs on Wednesdays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions, workshops, and hands-on projects related to C# programming and game development, utilizing a learner-centered approach.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the game development curriculum, ensuring it remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry trends.
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their game development projects.
  • Offer personalized tutoring and support to students, assisting them in overcoming challenges and optimizing their game development projects.
  • Showcase proficiency in using Unity Engine and C# programming.
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights from the game development industry to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors, industry professionals, and other departments to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Design, administer, and grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in game design to continuously enhance your own skills and instruction techniques.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in game development, with a strong portfolio of shipped or playable games. Experience may come from large studios, indie teams, or freelance work
  • Bachelor's degree in Game Development, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in game development principles, object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, programming design patterns and best practices in game development and programming.
  • Holding a Unity Certified Professional certification is a plus.
  • Previous teaching or TA experience is preferred plus strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • A strong portfolio of game development projects or relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
