CalOptima Health

At CalOptima Health, we are a mission-driven community-based organization dedicated to serving member health with excellence and dignity. Founded in 1993 by the Orange County Board of Supervisors as a county organized health system, we operate independently under the leadership of a Board of Directors composed of members, providers, business leaders and local government representatives. As the single largest health insurer in Orange County, we provide coverage for nearly one in three residents through our three programs: Medi-Cal, OneCare, and PACE.

Our team of approximately 1,600 employees works collaboratively to remove barriers, enhance care coordination and support our members in leading healthier lives. We believe in health equity and access to care for all, serving members in the languages they prefer so they are engaged in their health and realize better outcomes. Our motto is "Better. Together," reflecting our commitment that by working together with providers, community partners and local stakeholders, we can make things better for our members and community. We are a prudent steward of public funds, with about 95 cents of every dollar going directly to medical care.
