Overview:
We’re looking for a highly skilled and creative Video Editor & Social Media Specialist to produce high-impact, emotionally resonant, and on-brand content for Instagram and other social platforms. You’ll be responsible for creating viral-style short-form videos, scheduling content, and participating in strategic discussions with our digital agency. This role will evolve to include engagement and strategy tasks as our social presence grows. Responsibilities:
- Create and edit 2–3 viral-focused videos and micro reels (7 videos weekly) plus videos for stories following provided performance drivers and brand guidelines.
- Produce micro-content videos targeting audience pain points and nurturing engagement.
- Perform expert batch video editing for Reels and Stories based on formats and SOPs provided.
- Extract impactful clips from long-form videos for reuse across multiple platforms.
- Maintain a cataloged video library for easy access and reuse.
- Schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Repurpose Instagram content for other platforms where applicable.
- Create hooks, compelling captions and text posts from video transcripts for Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Use Canva or other graphic tools to design and edit graphics, logos, and social media visuals.
- Monitor social media performance and provide insightful reports and data-backed content optimizations.
- Proactively contribute strategic ideas for content and social growth.
- Research popular trends and content hooks to stay ahead of social shifts.
- Help implement basic SEO strategies for content visibility and reach.
- Participate in strategy calls with the business owner and digital agency.
- Maintain consistency in brand messaging, tone, and voice across all content.
- Ensure all content aligns with VIRALITY mechanics on each platform.
- Follow established SOPs and processes for video approval and content rollout.
- Work independently and adapt quickly to feedback after the initial training period.
Preferred Growth Areas (Not required at start, but a definite plus):
- Engage with key competitor pages and influencer accounts to source leads and engagement opportunities (required after onboarding).
- Craft personalized DMs based on engagement activity to build warm connections.
- Provide copywriting support for posts, hooks, and captions.
- Build community connections by engaging with follower posts and potential client conversations - (required after onboarding).
- Help increase followers and engagement through strategic interaction and content adaptation.
Requirements
- Advanced video editing and storytelling skills
- Deep knowledge of IG, TikTok, FB, LinkedIn, and YouTube content dynamics
- Strong understanding of platform virality and performance metrics
- High proficiency in Canva and other content creation tools
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Proactive, independent, and able to follow through without micro-management
- High attention to detail and a strong creative sense
- Willingness to adapt to different time zones as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative digital environment
- Open to feedback, growth, and evolving responsibilities as the business scales
