Job Description:

Blue Water Thinking is seeking Project Schedulers to support an upcoming program within the VA. Project Schedulers will specialize in creating, updating, and maintaining project schedules in support of healthcare IT initiatives. This role works closely with project teams, VA stakeholders, and OIT partners to develop and manage schedules that support system readiness efforts. The Project Scheduler ensures alignment of milestones, tasks, and dependencies across multiple workstreams and integrates updates into broader program-level scheduling structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project
  • Coordinate with project teams, project leads, and stakeholders to define milestones, tasks, and dependencies
  • Produce and maintain schedules that align with program-level Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
  • Perform weekly updates to project schedules to reflect progress, changes, and new requirements
  • Support integration of project schedules into enterprise-level IMS structures
  • Align schedules with Agile development, testing, and release cadences
  • Coordinate with VA and OIT stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and completeness
  • Identify schedule risks, dependencies, and constraints, and support mitigation planning
  • Perform schedule analysis, including critical path identification and impact assessment
  • Generate schedule reports and provide regular updates to stakeholders and program leadership
  • Support continuous improvement of scheduling processes and coordination practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project scheduling for IT or healthcare programs
  • Expertise in MS Project for schedule development and maintenance
  • Experience integrating schedules into enterprise-level IMS
  • Experience performing schedule analysis and risk assessments
  • Experience supporting federal or VA programs
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification or MS Project certification
  • Familiarity with Agile project environments
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Salary range: $55,000 - $85,000
