Make an Impact Beyond the Caseload

At Backpack Health, we’re not just delivering care—we’re building the future of behavioral health. As a Residency Program Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of clinicians while maintaining a small clinical caseload of your own.

If you’re highly organized, clinically grounded, and excited about mentoring systems and people—not just clients—this role offers a unique blend of leadership, coordination, and direct impact.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the engine that keeps our Clinical Residency Program running smoothly and effectively:

  • Lead onboarding and orientation, ensuring every resident is set up for success from day one
  • Coordinate scheduling, communication, and daily program operations
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation aligned with CARF standards
  • Track supervision hours, training progress, and licensure milestones
  • Support trainings, workshops, and program events from planning to execution
  • Serve as a key point of contact for residents, supervisors, and leadership
  • Partner across teams (Clinical Ops, HR, Compliance) to keep everything aligned
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that strengthen the program
  • Maintain a small therapy caseload, delivering high-quality, client-centered care
  • Assist with client coordination, including referrals and transitions

What Success Looks Like

  • Residents are fully onboarded and confident on day one
  • Documentation is consistently accurate, complete, and audit-ready
  • Communication is timely, clear, and reliable
  • Trainings and supervision sessions run smoothly and on schedule
  • Program data and reports are delivered accurately and on time

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
  • Active clinical licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice (e.g., LMSW, LGPC, LCSW, LCPC, or equivalent) — required for providing therapy services
  • 2+ years of behavioral health experience, including direct clinical care
  • Strong organization and attention to detail—you don’t let things fall through the cracks
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with program coordination or training programs (a plus)
  • Familiarity with CARF, Medicaid documentation, and licensure tracking
  • Comfort with EHR systems and tools like Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset

Work Environment

  • Fully remote with occasional in-person meetings or events
  • Standard business hours with some flexibility
  • Minimal, planned travel
  • Collaborative, virtual-first team environment
