View company profile

At the heart of AWP Safety lies a deeply ingrained culture of protection and reliability, a mission that has been evolving since its inception in 1981. Originally a small security guard and alarm agency, the company pivoted to meet client demand, specializing in traffic control services and eventually becoming North America's leading traffic control specialist. This journey reflects a core value of adaptability and a relentless focus on safety. The company's ethos is built on the principles of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. They don't just see their employees as flaggers; they call them 'Protectors' because that is their fundamental role—safeguarding the lives of construction crews, the public, and their own team members in complex work zones. This sense of purpose is instilled from day one, with comprehensive, paid training programs that are considered the best in the industry, covering everything from ATSSA certification to defensive driving and emergency response.

AWP Safety fosters a unique environment where a strong work ethic and a commitment to problem-solving are valued above formal education, creating a clear path for career advancement without a college degree. It's common for Protectors to advance to supervisory and management roles, with pay rates and safety bonuses that reward loyalty and hard work. This commitment to its people has been recognized externally, with Newsweek naming AWP Safety one of America's Greatest Workplaces for Diversity. The company celebrates the varied experiences and backgrounds of its team, believing that this diversity enhances their ability to serve the diverse communities they protect. They are not just a service provider but a partner, utilizing next-generation technology like Smart Work Zones, vehicle telematics, and advanced software to track, analyze, and continuously elevate safety standards. This fusion of dedicated people and innovative technology underpins their promise to protect people, business, and time, making them a trusted partner in building and maintaining North America's critical infrastructure.
