Position Overview

Autodesk Construction is looking for an analytical contributor who applies deep technical knowledge and industry best practices to design, automate, and improve cloud infrastructure solutions. Operating at the full-contributor level across the entire cloud stack from RDS to EKS and beyond, this role solves complex problems of diverse scope, takes a fresh perspective on existing solutions, and connects individual technical initiatives to broader organizational goals. The engineer works independently on most assignments, with guidance at key decision points, and may lead projects, processes, or critical components of larger initiatives.

You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager, AEC Construction and will work remotely based in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously assess our broad cloud platform needs

  • Identify significant risks/gaps

  • Deploy and manage applications within EKS and persistent AWS Infrastructure

  • Introduce improvements in key areas including

    • Proactive capacity management

    • Monitoring/alerting

    • Tuning/pruning

    • Load optimization

    • Data replication management for reporting

  • Create and evangelize/institutionalize general best practices and health models

  • Utilize industry standard observability tooling and AWS automation to implement standards across a fleet of databases

  • Form a high-impact council of experts from across ACS to leverage as champions

  • Provide direct consulting with individual teams as well as COE leads on readiness/risks

  • Select/curate appropriate broad training opportunities for ACS Engineering in database technologies/management

  • Provide tactical support in the case of true emergencies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Kubernetes architecture at scale

  • Minimum of 5 years of Terraform experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with cloud data technologies

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to share your expertise and influence positive outcomes

Qualifications minimales

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $107,000 and $157,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
