For the expansion of our EMEA team, argenx is looking for a Congress Manager for the DM-EPM Region.

PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Congress Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing congresses and conferences and support delivery of other large-scale event periodically. This role requires excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and manage and deliver all operational aspects of congresses and conferences, including planning, logistics and budgeting management, and overall project management in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Manage coordination of internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless communication and event delivery.

  • Oversee the entire attendee management process, including registration, communication, and on-site support, to ensure a seamless and positive experience for all participants

  • Manage and coordinate all logistics bookings such as hotel room blocks, meeting rooms, group registrations, F&B orders, A/V needs, etc.

  • Support Marketing & Medical teams in booth design and activity development and implementation.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

  • Monitor event performance and provide post-event analysis and reports.

  • Handle any issues or emergencies that arise during events.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Multilingual abilities, particularly in English and French.

  • Experience with virtual and hybrid event formats.

  • Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in congress management

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively together within cross-functional teams and networks

  • Demonstrated communication skills, within a multi-cultural and multi-lingual global environment

  • Is agile and demonstrates adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, trust-building, and resilience

  • Derives energy from operating in a dynamic, complex, fast-moving, and frequently changing business environment

  • Demonstrable experience with project management, proactive planning, priority setting, and securing alignment

  • Drives toward outcomes

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale events, preferably in the congress or conference sector.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.

  • Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours as needed.
